This lecture will present the traditional outcome expectations for primary endodontic treatment for vital and non-vital canals.
In addition, the limitation of the periapical radiograph as the detector of disease will be presented as well as the attempts to make the evaluation less subjective.
The differences between the expectation of outcomes for periapical radiographs and the newer CBCT evaluations will be presented.
